It's been three years since Kelly has past. It's truely hard to believe. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. In fact...I would have posted this sooner but I'm still at a loss for words. I just don't know what to say except I still love and miss her very much.
BTW (yesterday was the anniversary..but again, I was at a loss... I dont want anyone to think I forgot.)
Granted a lot of states are decided...still quite a few are undecided. I took data from current incoming results, past 3 election results, exit data..etc. How did I do?
Take the phone off the hook if you submit a request in via LendingTree.com. It's ringing off the hook. Anyone know how to email me and not just a generic form?
That's like a basketball, baseball score combined. What coach lets his team run it up that bad. Sheesh...and they were 0-1 entering the game too. Who beat them last week?
“TACOMA, Wash. — A man bolted from a job interview when he saw a woman steal his truck with his sleeping 6-month-old daughter inside.
The episode unfolded Monday afternoon as the unidentified man was talking with John Delgado and Nick Delin about working as a cook at their restaurant, Big Nick's Pizza and Pasta, police and the owners said.
Delin told The News Tribune the man kept an eye on his extended-cab pickup, keys at the ready, as his baby slept in her car seat in the back seat of the vehicle, which was locked with the air conditioner running.
Nearing the end of the interview, a woman apparently used master keys to enter the truck and took off.
"He just flew out the door," Delin said.”
Can't say I've ever had anyone do this to me...not yet anyways...
“BOSTON, Massachusetts (Reuters) — In this story, it was the drunk driver who pulled over the police officer.
"He pulled up behind me, rolled down the passenger side window and said he was looking for a police officer to arrest him," Ian McCollin, chief of police in Vernon, Vermont, said in an interview on Wednesday. "When I asked him why, he replied 'I'm drunk."'”
Okay, it's not that dramatic but I was just alerted or rather told that I've been put on standby in case the first of the season, named Alex, hits Myrtle Beach. Chances are we'll get a big brunt of it with Charleston but it should mostly be rain and wind...or so I hope. No worries, I'm on a four day break and if they cancel a day, I don't mind at all. I rather be out there working if something big happened. I'm really enjoying my job, my co-workers and my supervisors. No complaints from me.
“Vice president swoops into MB GOP elite attend event for DeMint
By Zane Wilson
The Sun News
More than 400 people came to a $1,000-a-plate chicken dinner Friday at the Convention Center to hear Vice President Dick Cheney speak in a fund-raiser for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jim DeMint.
The visit of such a high-ranking politician put a new spotlight on the Grand Strand and its status in statewide politics, with DeMint saying victory here is essential to his quest to replace retiring Democratic U.S. Sen. Ernest "Fritz" Hollings.”
I worked on the traffic detail and I can tell you, . I didn't see anything other than his limos and other vehicles cruising down the road. Just like an episode of West Wing, rather cool if I do say so.
“MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — A man was found dead on a couch in a hospital lounge, and a nurse told police that nobody had checked on him for at least 17 hours because he appeared to be asleep.
Robert F. Johnson, 55, who had emphysema, was found Thursday at Southwest General Health Center, police said. It was not clear when he died; an autopsy was planned.”
Next on the list is my roommate or is it room mate? Anyways, I'll have one as of August 1st and I couldn't be happier. Why? Sharing bills baby...sharing bills!
There is no way on Gods green earth I can afford this place alone and thankfully now I wont have too. While the bills wont be split exactly 50/50, I wont be paying for cable, electric, phone and HOA dues. That should help me quite a bit. Still not where I need to be but I'm getting there and in August, I take a turn for the better. Although I do have to pay for a storage unit for all the gym equipment but might have a buyer for most of it...including an old spare desk. So if you hear someone answer, it's my roomie Laura. By the end of the month she'll be moved in upset if I haven't lost my mind by then...argh...so much to do!!
Kelly's computer has been re-attached to my monitor..err, her monitor (I'm using that as my primary now because she had the bigger monitor). I have a switch box that allows me to share a keyboard, monitor and mouse for both computers and it's kind of cool.
Okay, this post contains none of that...but I thought it was a good title for a lot of updates.
First off, I'm almost released and working on the road by myself. That should happen on July 22nd, so one more week and I'm there. I was also recently certified and that was a fun class. While I didn't volunteer to get tasered, several people did and I videoed taped them. Much funnier watching than doing. Vist the and take a look at some of their videos. The taser is not an end all, beat all but it's a pretty damn good tool that prevents long term injury to the officer, the subject and any bystanders.
Next, I visited the recruiter in Charleston about joing the Coast Guard Reserves. I'm i nterested in becoming an officer under their program. If all goes well, I'll find out if I'm accepted around the middle of December or beginning of January 2005. Man...that's a long time but that's how it goes I guess.
Both of my cats are standing here...staring at me. Every morning they split one packet of moist/wet food and then have hard food the rest of the day. I'm guessing they want the good stuff because they are just sitting there. Staring. Life is hell if two kitties don't get the good stuff...
On a side note, work is going quite well. I'm in phase 2 of my field training officer training. I'm about to rotate back to my first FTO soon. Once I do that, it's 3 more weeks with him and then I'm evaluated to work alone or not. I'm doing fairly well or so I think. The reports aren't too hard, just have to remember what blocks to fill out, where copies go, etc. I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions along the way. No way to possible know everything when you are released but for now, it's nice having someone in the next seat able to give guidance.
In other news, Kelly's lawsuit is moving forward. The case has been filed and I'm being deposed on the 20th of July. Should be a long, crappy day but one that needs to happen.
That's all for now, I'll try to post the odd stuff I'm constantly think about more often. I want to post almost every other day. We'll see how it goes, it's my official mid-year resolution.
As requested, here are my thoughts about the recent U.S. Army prison abuse scandal. It's wrong. Plain and simple, it's wrong. I was in the Army for 4 years and never once was anything like that every mentioned...not once. I deployed to Haiti for nearly 6 months, again, never mentioned. In fact, they always stressed the Geneva Convention and the rules on how we would handle people. One thing I always like about America is that we were always the good guys, the fair ones...but it doesn't seem that way.
It appears the offenders will be caught, tried and punished and hopefully things will change and a system will be put in place in order to prevent this from happening again.
